Single-family room styles in the NICU enhance positive health outcomes for patients and families, but how do they impact the communication between physicians and nurses? Making progress at Ronald McDonald House Charities Dayton! It's not done, but it already enjoys a lovely view. Their new, larger house will keep more families close as their children undergo medical treatment.

GBBN’s Angela Mazzi, Greg Coni, and Tiffany Broyles Yost will be joining AIA Columbus Academy of Architecture tomorrow, March 29th to discuss the need to think of resilience as an equity issue.

Resilience is directly linked to the resources one has to cope with environmental stressors. It involves social, physical, and economic aspects, and disparate resources lead to adverse health outcomes.

Register here to attend online: https://www.aiacolumbus.org/aia-columbus-aah-meeting-implementing-a-health-equity-framework/

Posted @withregram • @tctcincinnati Originally built for the Ohio Mechanics Institute, the Emery has always been a place for innovation. Its design not only used new steel trusses to create a column-free “house” with unobstructed views, but it built upon the most current approach to acoustics to create a space whose sound ranked among the best in the country.

Incorporating Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality into the planning process is one of the ways that the Emery Theater Renovation builds on this legacy of innovation. Early in the design process, GBBN Architects and TCT used both technologies to test the size, ergonomics, and experiential quality of the concessions, the reception desk, lobby, and the inside of the theater itself.

Standing in the historic theater’s magnificent space, these technologies allow us a glimpse of its future.

Big shoutout to the incredible team making it happen – GBBN Architects, Terrex Development & Construction, CFBank, Cincinnati Development Fund, LISC Greater Cincinnati, and National Trust Community Investment Corporation! Also funded by the City of Cincinnati.

Help shape the future of TCT by supporting the Emery project with a generous gift: https://bit.ly/EncoreAtTheEmery

Schools are critical in creating a more equitable future, but they need the support of a larger ecosystem and built environment to succeed. That’s why it’s so exciting to see @urbanacademypgh’s plans to foster equitable development in Larimer.
